The Bond Collection
When I was an adorable little boy of 8 years old, I puttered around
unfocused, without a real game plan or direction, I'd set no goals.
Besides making my beloved Mother Allia Jo Ward extremely pleased to
be my Mother, I had achieved nothing. One day, while watching the 'Dialing
for Dollars' afternoon movie on the old black and white, I saw a man
fighting an older woman with a knife in her shoe. The film was 'From
Russia with Love', and starred Sean Connery as James Bond. Then, as
if I were struck by a Thunderball, my life's goal became clear. Some
time later a charming woman friend of my Mother asked me what I wanted
to be when I grew up. I told her the truth I still hold in my heart.
'When I grow up, I want to be Sean Connery!”
Although I'm a huge fan of the Bond films. I don't view them much, Connery
and all those colorful character actors are always vivid in my memory,
so I never miss them. In fact, all of the works in this collection were
produced from significant memories I had of the characters in these
roles, never checking photos until after the artwork was complete. So
in essence this exhibit is all heart. Through 'The Bond Collection',
I share my joy with You
